My name is Zsuzsanna Oszkó, I am a child clinical psychologist. I founded my 17 years of professional knowledge at the ELTE Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology in 2007. I had trained as a family and couple therapist within the Hungarian Family Therapy Association and since 2017 I have been working as a child and youth clinical psychologist with my diploma from the University of Pécs. I gathered my diagnostic knowledge (different nervous system development - autism and ADHD, assessment of intellectual and learning abilities and behavioral problems) in the ranks of the Expert Committee of the Budapest Pedagogical Service over 15 years. Through several accredited training courses, I have mastered the methodology of childhood anxiety and learning techniques, sexual psychology, autism and intelligence and the use of competency tests. I gained my practical experience at a children's home and in a child psychiatric hospital ward. Since 2007, in addition to my work as an expert, I have also worked privately with adults. Since 2022, however, I have been providing both clinical therapy for children and adults as part of a private practice.
During my work, I strive to provide an environment in which children can turn to me with confidence and in which they can open up. Whether it's a small child, teenager or adult, with my openness and positive, supportive attitude, I help to identify, explore, solve problems and to go along the path to change. As a mother and clinician, I try to find the way to children in a playful way, thus helping them with emerging psychological difficulties (attachment, aggression, anxiety - Coping Cat method, learning technique). Adolescents and young adults can come to me with self-awareness, self-evaluation, and connection difficulties, relationship breakdowns, crises and sexual problems. In order to create or maintain a balanced family dynamic, in addition to helping children, I think it is important to focus on the parents as well, since settling into multiple roles can often be challenging (functioning well as parents and as a couple, communicating effectively, bringing back and preserving intimacy). I also consider it important to work in a team, since in the case of many clinical difficulties, it is necessary to think together with other specialists (child psychiatrist, special pedagogue, speech therapist).
